Summary
Aiki Social is an upcoming online community space for Aiki practioners, clubs and organisations to meet and interact.
This is a placeholder while the first version is being built.
Motivation
The purpose of Aiki Social is to enable the Aiki community to move from less suitable social platforms into a bespoke non-commercial platform where we retain ownership of our own data, social domain and network. Further more, it is being designed to be better adapted to the actual needs of this community.
Scope
Aiki Social is designed around small, practical community workflows. Initial scope includes:
- Start or join groups – dojos, clubs, associations, organisations...
- Follow groups and see public communications without joining.
- Join groups by request / invitation and access private communications too.
- Communicate by posts, comments, direct messages (threaded, multiple participants), events, calendars...
- Real-time updates
- Groups are also subdomains, and can have custom domains. (Your group can be a website)
